A short hop between a hotel, a mall and a restaurant is what e-hailing does best. You book in seconds and pay by distance, and for one or two people with little luggage it is hard to beat.
When a chauffeur is the better choice
A booked car with a fixed fare starts to win when the trip is long, early, heavy or shared:
- Airport runs with luggage: KLIA to Kuala Lumpur from RM 150, with 60 minutes of waiting after landing included
- Groups: the Hyundai Staria seats 9 and the Toyota Hiace seats up to 18, so the group travels together
- Day trips: Genting Highlands from RM 300 one way, and outstation trips across Malaysia and to Singapore

- Early flights and big events, when e-hailing drivers are hardest to find
Fixed fare or changing fare
E-hailing fares change with demand, so the same trip can cost more in rain, at rush hour or after a concert. A chauffeur fare is agreed before you travel and includes tolls and parking, so the price you are quoted is the price you pay.
